Here Goes Nothing...

This week we talked about moral development, Kohlberg's theory.  His theory has six stages that humans go through.  When we are in stage one we only make choices based on what the consequences will be.  If you were to get in trouble for something you may decide not to do it.  The second stage we tend to things many for ourselves and whether or not what we are doing will give us what we want.  Or we decide whether or not the victim deserves the punishment.  With Stage three we tend to make our decision depending on how others will react.  We will do things even though we may not want to just to make others happy.  When you decide if you want to do something depending on if it is legal or not that is most likely the fourth stage. You try your best to always fallow the rules and breaking the law would just be out of the question.  The final stage is what we are in when we are grown up.  We may know something is wrong but if something good will happen from doing it we tend to take to risk of getting caught if it will help someone.

Another Blog Assignment

Learning about all these different brain disorders really opened my eyes to just how different everyone can be.  In elementary school and middle school there was a boy in my classed who was diagnosed with Autism.  He had a more severe case of Autism so he had a very tough time interacting in class. Even though he suffered from Autism he still played soccer and did other active activities.  He was on my soccer team in second grade, we were the purple team i believe.  The coach would tell Jacob, that was the boy's name, to be my shadow and that where ever I went on the field to do the same.  When Jacob would get the ball, every kid on the field would stop so he could kick it.  No one told anyone to do this but i guess everyone just knew that Jacob needed special help and this was one of the ways they could help out.  Jacob no longer goes to hour school because after middle school he went to Syble Hopp.  Last year i volunteered at the Special Olympics at Ashwaubenon High School and saw Jacob there.  He was on the soccer team and seeing him out there just brought me back to those days on the soccer field with him.  Before the Autism presentation i didn't realize there were so many different "levels" of Autism and now i feel i understand what Jacob had to go through a little better now.

Blog #4

This year during homework i was sick for the whole week.  We never knew what it was that made me sick even after numerous trips to the doctor.  In the time span of one week i visited the ER twice.  The first time was because i had a fever of 104.5, if you didn't know that is extremely high.  Before going to the ER my mom woke me up because when she felt my head I was dangerously warm.  She asked me simple questions like my name and what day it was.  I knew my name but when asked if i knew what day it was I was stumped.  My answer was that I didn't know and i could figure it out but trying would take far to long.  I don't remember much of that conversation, ha no shocker there.  That was a rough week for my arms because I had a total of 5 either IV's or just blood samples taken, terrible time.  The second trip to the ER was for a really bad headache.  I also had a fever but it wasn't as bad as before.  Once there and laying on the bed I was freezing.  I asked for a blanket and was very pleased when the nurse brought me one.  After she put in my IV and took my temperature, realizing a had a fever, she took my blanket away with out even saying a word.  I was heart broken.  It was extremely busy that day at the ER so i ended up waiting there for hours.  The fallowing week, once i started to feel better, I went in for a CAT scan, such a weird experience.  The ink that they put into my body made me feel like I was peeing my pants.  As i laid there the nurse enter and began wiping my arm because she told me that she didn't something wrong with the IV and my arm way covered in blood.  Sweet, just what i wanted to hear!  Everything came out clean which was good but also bad because it meant they didn't know what i had.  The final test was a blood test to see if i had a tick born virus.  I figured it was just a waste of time but her why not.  About a month later we got a letter from the village telling us that i in fact do have a tick born virus in my system.  Ever sense that first week where i got sick I have continued to be sick.  I finished my antibiotics so i figured i was over it, but sadly i feel sick right now. :( well that seems like enough about me and my sickness.  Talk to you fellers later.
